U.S. Tariffs
NOTICE FOR CUSTOMERS FROM THE USA.
As you are probably well aware the United States Administration has recently announced a series of tariffs for all goods imported in to the USA.
This will affect all purchases from Time Factors placed by customers from the USA but to varying degrees as our watches are comprised of components sourced from different countries, all of which have been subjected to different levels of tariffs.
We are a small company who have always worked to relatively small margins within the industry so we are unable to absorb the costs associated with the new tariffs.
A high percentage of our cases and bracelets (excluding the Dreadnought Voyager) are made in Hong Kong, which the U.S. Administration classifies as China. This means the percentage value of these components will be subject to the tariffs placed on China, which at the time of writing has been set at 104%.
The "De Minimis" exemption for goods from Hong Kong with a value of Under $800 is currently still in place but will end on May 2nd.
The movements in our watches are either Swiss (Sellita & ETA) or Japanese (Miyota) so the tariff charged on the percentage value of the watch will vary depending on which of these is used in a particular model. Switzerland currently stands at 31% and Japan 24%.
All straps ordered separately are also subject to the Hong Kong tariff.
These tariffs will be collected by UPS locally before delivery so please make sure your contact details are correct when placing an order.
We have always valued our customers and friends from the USA and hope that these measures are in effect for short period of time.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
